Not sure how a healthy man goes deaf in the prime of his life. Perhaps he went hunting too many times without earplugs like my great grandfather did in southwest Missouri trying to feed his family. Or attended so many rock concerts like my first husband partying with fraternity brothers too close to the stage it gave him tinnitus.
Yet it seems President Obama can hear just fine when the media asks him questions on national television. He understood that the Nobel Peace Prize will be his without any difficulty. It appears he’s on a misguided mission to destroy early presidency and members of his own party are helping him. There is no explanation for jamming this unwanted legislation through….except for one reason….EGO. His current approval rating is a paltry 39%.
When 75% of the American people say they like their current healthcare and 52% suggest that a full blown overhaul of the system is unnecessary, why doesn’t the President hear them? Is he on a hunting trip with earplugs? At a Hannah Montana concert with his daughters? His ego is in the way and he’s turned a deaf ear.
I simply cannot imagine why he’s not using Bill Clinton’s/James Carville’s/George Stephanopoulos’ “It’s the Economy Stupid” mantra. If he wants to be a hero, and of course who doesn’t, why isn’t he CREATING JOBS????? If all those folks in Congress had put their efforts into creating jobs instead of fussing with healthcare, maybe we wouldn’t be staring at double digit unemployment and a gloomy Christmas.
Driving up the deficit by $1TRILLION is just plain dumb. He will go down in history as the president who provided an additional 25 million Americans (12%) health insurance for an unbelievably astronomical amount that generations to come will have to pay for with taxes, taxes and more taxes. It would be far cheaper to just pay their premiums and take the time to do real insurance reform. None of this makes any sense at all.
Will someone please tell me why President Obama has turned a deaf ear to the American people? We need jobs and real insurance reform.
