The Independent will be doing a new feature called “Summer Snapshot.” Send us your favorite fun photos from this summer including, vacations, tournaments, parties, neighborhood activities, summer school outings, etc. To submit, please include: the photo, information about the photo, the caption, and your name and number. American Girl Fashion Show Auditions!

If you think your daughter has what it takes to be in the American Girl Fashion Show, then this is your chance to sign her up! There will be auditions from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 22nd at the Diamond Academy. The American Girl Fashion Show is also in need of high school age girls to be commentators for the show — so girls of all ages can participate! Proceeds from the event will benefit Sunflower House and Charlie’s House. It’s Trolley Time
We are so excited for what Our Town is calling, “The Kansas City Strip — a party on wheels!” KayCee is now offering a fleet of trolleys that will travel to The Plaza, Westport, Brookside, Martini Corner, Waldo, Power & Light, the Crossroads, 18th & Vine, and Ameristar all in ONE night! This is the newest (and we think the best) way to experience KayCee nightlife like you never have before. Plus, you have the freedom to choose which locations to hop off the trolley and how long until you hop back on again. The new trolley system will operate every Friday and Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. and is equipped with a ‘Confessional Booth’ ready to take on the night’s juiciest gossip. All you need to ride the trolley is a wrist band, starting at the low price of $10, that can get you over 100 restaurant and bar specials all night long.
