YMCA of Greater Kansas City – Challenge Your Fashion

More than 500 guests enjoyed the YMCA of Greater Kansas City’s 10th annual Challenge Your Fashion event on January 28th. Partygoers enjoyed dinner, live and silent auctions, live music from Dolewite, and a fashion show, where professional athletes and YMCA Challenger athletes left their jerseys at home and walked the runway. Proceeds will help expand the Fred and Shirley Pryor YMCA Challenger Sports Complex and Challenger programs for kids with diverse abilities.

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Claude Twibell of Fairway are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Taylor Leigh Twibell, to Brett James Havens, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Joseph Havens of Overland Park. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Edward Joseph Maguire, Jr. of Rye, New York, and the late Mr. Maguire and the late Mr. and Mrs. Rex Twibell. Taylor is a graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School. She was a Jewel Ball debutante in 2010.

WIN for KC – Women’s Sports Awards Celebration

February 1st was the date for the WIN for KC Women’s Sports Awards Celebration in the Grand Ballroom of the Kansas City Convention Center. Area high school female state champions and six local individuals were recognized for their community contributions and achievements in sports. Olympic medalist and ESPN Analyst Jessica Mendoza was the keynote speaker.

Mr. and Mrs. Jack A. Newman, Jr. of Leawood are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kathryn Lenore Newman, to Jonathan Carl Rutkowski, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rutkowski of Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Kate is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Keller and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack A. Newman, Sr. She is a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Kate earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing from The University of Kansas.

Spotlight on Centurions – Georgiane Hayhow

Georgiane Hayhow is a member of Centurions, class of 2018. She serves on the recruiting committee and the Wild Card Task Force. Georgiane has her own real estate team, The Hayhow Group with Better Homes and Gardens. She serves on the board of Mercy Ambassadors at Children’s Mercy and on the Towers After Hours committee at Starlight Theatre. Georgiane has four children.
