Catholic Charities Foundation of Northeast Kansas – St. Martin of Tours Mass and Reception

November 6th was the date for Catholic Charities Foundation of Northeast Kansas’ St. Martin of Tours Mass and Reception. The special evening recognized supporters of Catholic Charities’ annual Snow Ball. Guests enjoyed an inspirational Mass at Nativity Parish, followed by a reception hosted by Bridget and John Murphy. The Snow Ball will be held on January 16th at the Crown Center Exhibition Hall.

The Children’s Place – Art & Apps

The Young Advisory Board of The Children’s Place hosted Art & Apps, a benefit for The Children’s Place, on November 6th at 2000 Grand. Guests enjoyed live entertainment by Ozark Hutch and Artist Sike created a wonderful canvas featuring the Kansas City skyline. Thanks to the generosity of local artists, David Gentile, Sue Adams, Alli Whorley, and Lindsay Nichols, fabulous artwork was raffled off to raise funds for programs and support.

Spotlight on Centurions – Adam Gebhardt

Adam Gebhardt is the director of marketing for TIVOL and is a member of Centurions, class of 2017. He serves on the board of the Mid-America Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and sits on the Chancellor’s LGBT Council at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. In his spare time, Adam enjoys kayaking and running.

The Letters

Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas and Donnelly College recently hosted a pre-screening of The Letters at Glenwood Arts Theatre on November 13th. The movie is about the letters that Mother Teresa wrote to her longtime friend and spiritual advisor for more than a 40 year period. Archbishop Joseph Naumann, Monsignor Stuart Swetland and Ken Williams presented the film’s director, William Riead, with an original painting of Mother Teresa.
