Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art – Create the Night…Masterpiece

On December 16th, committee members gathered to address invitations for The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s gala, Create the Night…Masterpiece, which will be held on February 20th at the Museum. The black-tie affair will highlight the opening of the Museum’s exhibit, Reflecting Class in the Age of Rembrandt and Vermeer. Joan and Alan Marsh and The Karbank Family are the honorary co-chairmen, and Carol Logan, Peggy Lyons and Mary Reintjes are serving as co-chairmen.

The Junior League of KCMO – 2016 Take Five

The 2016 Take Five event, a benefit for The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri, will be held on March 4th at Pennway Place at Studio Dan Meiners. The fifth annual event will feature specialty libations, delicious fare from local restaurants, live entertainment by Lost Wax, raffle packages, and a $5,000 giveaway. 

Co-chairmen Katie Adams and Brittney Henderson flanked Tiffany Goddard, sustainer.

Great Plains SPCA – 2016 Pawtini: Poodle Skirts & Cat-illacs

Anne and Howard Elsberry and Shelley Elsberry are the honorary co-chairmen, and Suzanne Shank and Jackie Middelkamp are serving as co-chairmen of Great Plains SPCA’s 2016 Pawtini: Poodle Skirts & Cat-illacs. The March 5th event will be held at Union Station Kansas City. Partygoers will don fabulous fifties attire and enjoy cocktails, a delectable dinner, silent and live auctions, and the tunes of Private Stock.

Holiday Soirée

The Independent hosted a Holiday Soirée on December 10th and 11th. Guests enjoyed fabulous shopping from local vendors, tasty treats and holiday cheer. Local charities dropped business cards into a hat for the chance to win a portion of the sales. The lucky winners were Phoenix Family and Variety Children’s Charity. A great time was had by all.

Congratulations, Lindsay & Niles!

Mr. Martin and Dr. Lucinda Vogtsberger of Columbus, Ohio, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsay Sears Vogtsberger, to Niles Ericsson Jager, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Thor Jager of Mission Hills. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Henry Vogtsberger of Bowling Green, Ohio, and the late Dr. Vogtsberger and the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard J. Phillips. Lindsay is a graduate of The Wellington School in Columbus, Ohio.
