National Endowment for the Arts – Dr. Jane Chu

The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts was the setting for a Reception to honor Dr. Jane Chu, chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. Guests at the September 25th event helped to create the Dr. Jane Chu Endowment Fund for Youth in the Performing Arts to recognize the leadership and accomplishments of the first president and CEO of the Kauffman Center, who served from 2006 to 2014.

Kansas City Ballet Guild – 2015-16 Kick-Off Luncheon

On September 29th, The Kansas City Country Club was the place where the Kansas City Ballet Guild’s 2015-16 Kick-Off Luncheon took place. Guests enjoyed a fabulously choreographed sword fight from the upcoming production of The Three Musketeers. New guild members were welcomed by President Lisa Hickok.

Junior League of Wyandotte and Johnson Counties – Mothers’ Tea

September 20th was the date for The Mothers’ Tea for The Junior League of Wyandotte and Johnson Counties’ Community Ball and Cotillion. The special event was held at the lovely home of Angela and Troy Moore. Mothers of the Cotillion participants enjoyed fun conversation and delicious fare from Brentano’s. The 65th Annual Ball will be held on December 5th at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown.

University of Kansas Hospital – Treads & Threads

Candice and Mark A. Uhlig were the honorary chairmen, Michelle and Peter deSilva were the chairmen and cancer survivor John Holt served as the emcee of the 14th annual Treads & Threads, a benefit for The University of Kansas Hospital. The September 11th event was held at Kansas Speedway.

High Aspirations – 5th Annual Mentors Challenge

Gayle and Bruce Krigel and Leisa and Ralph Reid are serving as co-chairmen of the 5th Annual Mentors Challenge, a benefit for High Aspirations. The November 17th event will be held at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. High Aspirations is a prevention-based mentoring program that serves young African American men in Our Town, ages eight through 18.
