Spotlight On Centurions  РChristie Hammond

Christie Hammond is a member of Centurions, class of 2016. She serves as co-chairman of the communications committee and will offer leadership on the upcoming Sports and Entertainment Task Force. Christie is the executive director of Hope Network, a faith-based social services agency in Raytown. She volunteers with Mother’s Refuge, a shelter for homeless teen moms. Christie and her husband, Shunton, have two children, Aniston and Adelyn.

[Name Dropping] Crescendo: New Mood Rising

The UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance will showcase more than 250 students and faculty during one of Our Town’s premier events, Crescendo: New Mood Rising, on November 6th. This celebration of talent will be held at the world-class Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.¬†
Like a prism that bounces light around a room, this fast-paced concert will take guests quickly around Helzberg Hall, from a jazz combo to a violin soloist, from a wildly exciting dancer to a soaring orchestra.

The American Royal – The Royal on the Rooftop

The Polsinelli Building on the Plaza was the perfect setting for The American Royal Chairman’s Club’s The Royal on the Rooftop. More than 150 young professionals enjoyed the August 6th event. Members of the Chairman’s Club act as ambassadors for the American Royal and help to recruit new supports for the Royal.

KC Dance Day

The Kansas City Ballet
August 29th was the date for The Kansas City Ballet’s fifth annual KC Dance Day at the Todd Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity. More than 1,900 participants enjoyed the special event that featured free dance and fitness classes for children and adults, as well as performances by local dance groups and world dance groups representing different dance cultures.

Young dancers had a wonderful time at KC Dance Day.

RISE

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City
Sheri and Bob Reymond were the honorary chairmen of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City’s 50th anniversary celebration, RISE. More than 500 guests enjoyed the rooftop crawl that featured five of the best rooftops in the Crossroads, including Barkley, Three Points, Bishop-McCann, Encompas, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
