A Call for Back Up

The Police Foundation of Kansas City
February 10th was the date for the inaugural A Call for Back Up, a benefit for The Police Foundation of Kansas City, at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Police Chief Darryl Forté, Mayor Sly James and Jean and Don Wagner were the honorary co-chairmen, and John Walsh, host of The Hunt with John Walsh, was the keynote speaker.

March for Babies Kansas City will be held on May 3rd in the Power & Light District. The 2015 March for Babies Kansas City Corporate Kick-off Breakfast was held on February 19th at Black & Veatch’s World Headquarters in Overland Park.

Party Arty: KC Beautiful

 The Young Friends of Art
January 24th was the date for The Young Friends of Art’s Party Arty: KC Beautiful at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Katherine Myers and Leah Vomhof were co-chairmen of the event that featured specialty cocktails and delicious fare from some of Kansas City’s best restaurants. Vine Street Rumble, DJ Sike Style and DJ Project X had the crowd jumping at the all-night dance party.

A model from Salon Beyond entertained the guests.

Skye Mercy

Tails Of Our Town
We are happy to report that Skye Mercy’s sad tale has a happy ending. Skye was found tied to a truck parked outside in Stockton, Kansas, where she was scared, alone and hungry. Great Plains SPCA helped to fly her to Our Town and provided her with medical treatment and tender loving care. She was officially adopted into her forever home with Rebecca and Jason Leifert in November of 2014.

The Hayes Family

The Hayes family is very dedicated to Children’s Mercy Hospital. Jaime Hayes was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at the age of 14. Now in remission and in her late 20s, Jaime serves on the Children’s Mercy Cancer Center Auxiliary. Jaime’s mother, Linda, has volunteered with the Parent to Parent program, which helps parents whose children have cancer. Jaime’s father, Mike, has been a member of the Cancer Center Auxiliary since 2004.
