Melanie Fenske was completely surprised when she was nominated to be a Rising Star of Philanthropy by Amanda Crain and June Anne Chalfant through her work for MOCSA (Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault). “There are so many people who do amazing things, and it’s such an honor. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Richard Lee of Baltimore, Maryland, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Joan Lee, to Alonzo Everett Lane IV, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Everett Lane III of Our Town. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hung Check Leung and the late Mr. and Mrs. Fong Wing Lee. Lauren is a graduate of Towson High School in Towson, Maryland.

Nutcracker Ball

Kansas City Ballet Guild
Siobhan McLaughlin Lesley is the chairman, and Ann Dickinson will serve as the honorary chairman of the Kansas City Ballet Guild’s Nutcracker Ball on December 4th at Union Station Kansas City. The evening will feature cocktails, dinner, dancing, and the presentation of the Pirouette Award. All proceeds benefit the Kansas City Ballet and the Kansas City Ballet School.

Important Luncheon
MOCSA held its Community Luncheon at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown on April 30th. Keynote Speaker Lara Logan spoke to the record-breaking audience about surviving a sexual assault while on assignment as a foreign correspondent with 60 Minutes, covering the Egyptian Revolution in 2011. The evening prior, Lynette and Norman Siegel hosted a Patrons’ Party at their lovely home.

KCA Showcase + Auction

Celebrate The Arts
Union Station Kansas City was the setting for the KCA Showcase + Auction on April 10th. The sold-out event featured silent and live auctions, farm-to-fork fare, beautiful artwork, and wonderful performances that showcased the incredible talent of the students in the performing, visual and culinary arts. Tanna Guthrie and Jay Liebenguth served as hosts of the event that supports the Kansas City Academy.
