Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Lynn Turner of Our Town are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Lea Turner, to Andrew William Pence, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Keith Pence of Leawood. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Alfred Joseph Lane, Sr., of Mission Hills and the late Mr. Lane and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Turner, Jr. Megan is a graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School.

Once Upon A Time

Family Fun
The Children’s SPOT at Saint Luke’s Hospital’s 18th annual Once Upon A Time was held on March 1st at Starlight Theatre. Amy and Eric Graham and Lisa and Curt Chase were the co-chairmen, and Pembroke Hill Freshman Bradley Chapin served as the live auctioneer. More than 360 children and adults enjoyed dazzling table décor, dancing, dinner, games, great family entertainment, and costumed characters, including an army of Star Wars characters.

Brock Oliver Able

Crib Note
A darling baby boy named Brock Oliver Able was born on February 17th to Kelsey and Christopher Able of Prairie Village. Brock has brown hair and blue eyes and weighed seven pounds, two ounces. His proud grandparents are Nancy and Matt Buchmann of Leawood and Barb and Matt Able of Leawood. Brock’s adorable nursery is decorated in red, white and blue with Captain America accents.

Helping Hands

These four enterprising, adorable girls volunteered during spring break at Harvesters to help pack more than 550 boxes of food to be delivered to low-income seniors. A job well done by these terrific young ladies!

Mary Grace Martin

Crib Note
Rebecca and Scott Martin of Prairie Village welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Mary Grace Martin, on February 27th. She has blue eyes and light brown hair. Mary Grace weighed six pounds, 13 ounces and was 18 and one half inches long. The proud grandparents are Mary and John Harrison of Leawood and Dorian Busby of Naples, Florida, and Alson Martin of Lenexa. Mary Grace joins brothers Harry, who is four and a half, and Tommy, who is three.
