Center for Practical Bioethics – Annual Dinner

More than 600 guests gathered for the Center for Practical Bioethics’ Annual Dinner on April 5th at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Kathleen Sebelius, former United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, was the keynote speaker, and Barbara and Rene Bollier and Julie and David Warm served as the co-chairmen.

The Jewel Ball – Chairmen’s Coffee

The Kansas City Country Club was the lovely setting for the Jewel Ball Chairmen’s Coffee on April 12th. Nancy Dreyer Sachse is serving as chairman of the 63rd anniversary of The Jewel Ball, to be held on June 17th at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

The Truman Library Institute – Wild About Harry

Nancy and Herb Kohn were the honorary chairmen, and Katie and Clyde Wendel served as the chairmen of The Truman Library Institute’s 17th annual Wild About Harry dinner. The April 7th event was held at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Mark Halperin and John Heilemann were the keynote speakers, and Dr. Henry A. Kissinger was honored with the 2016 Harry S. Truman Legacy of Leadership Award. Proceeds support the educational outreach and programs at the Harry S.

Children’s Mercy – Great HeighTS Clinic

A Pink Party was held recently at Children’s Mercy’s Great HeighTS Clinic. Sporting KC and the Shadow Buddies Foundation hosted the event that featured tiaras, nail polish, hair and make-up, and Disney princess accessories. Turner Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder caused by a missing or incomplete X chromosome that affect’s a girl’s development.
