Ages of Excellence

Village Shalom
Vicki Novorr and James Klein were the co-chairmen of the sixth annual Ages of Excellence, a benefit for Village Shalom, on November 20th at the Overland Park Convention Center. Rick Reilly was the featured speaker, and the Stephen J. Schoenfeld Volunteer Recognition Award was presented to the staff of Village Shalom for their exemplary actions during the events surrounding the tragic shootings on April 13th at the Jewish Community Center and Village Shalom.

Some Enchanted Evening
The Johnson County Community College Foundation held its annual Some Enchanted Evening scholarship gala on November 8th at the Overland Park Marriott. Mary Birch was the chairman, and Bryan Biggs served as the corporate sponsor chairman. The Johnson Countian of the Year Award was presented to Dr. Gary Morsch, president and founder of Heart to Heart International.

2015 Jewel Ball Chairman
Ellen Benson Merriman (Mrs. Michael Atha Merriman) will serve as the chairman of the 2015 Jewel Ball, which will be held on June 20th at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. The Jewel Ball benefits The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Kansas City Symphony. Page Branton Reed (Mrs. Bruce Alan Reed) will serve as the vice chairman.

March for Babies

Making Futures Bright
The March of Dimes’ March for Babies event will be held on May 3rd in the Kansas City Power & Light District. Lenexa’s Alliance Data is serving as the chairman. Brenden Steffens, Kim Prange and Jeremy Kingsley, all with Alliance Data; plan to lead the effort to engage employees in the March of Dimes’ mission to improve the health of babies in Our Town.

Engagement 
Reverend and Mrs. Frank Eschmann of Topeka are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Kathleen Eschmann, to Scott Christopher Jackson, the son of Dr. and Mrs. Roger Jackson of Prairie Village. Becky is a graduate of Shawnee Heights High School. She earned a bachelor of social work degree from The University of Kansas and a master of social work degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
