Sugar Plum Fairy Children’s Ball

Wonderful Tradition 
The Sugar Plum Fairy Children’s Ball was held on December 6th at Union Station Kansas City. Kris Marriott Calovich was the chairman of the 20th annual that featured the Kansas City Youth Ballet performing excerpts from The Nutcracker, holiday carols sung by the Ginger Frost High School Honors Artists, magicians, face painting, photos with the Sugar Plum Fairy, and shopping at the Nutcracker market.

Holiday Party

The Symphony League
Indian Hills Country Club was the beautiful setting for The Symphony League’s Holiday Party on December 11th. Anne Elsberry passed the president’s gavel to Sandy Jackson, and Pamela Fleischer presented a check for $700,000 to Frank Byrne, the Kansas City Symphony; for the proceeds from the 2014 Symphony Ball. Shirley Helzberg received the Symphony League’s 25-year pin from Kathy Scaglia.

Rock Chalk Ball

Hail to Old KU
The 20th annual Rock Chalk Ball will be held on April 25th in the Grand Ballroom of Bartle Hall. Kelly and Paxson St. Clair are the chairmen of  the event will celebrate The University of Kansas’s 150th anniversary. Proceeds support the KU Alumni Association which hosts the annual Ball with its Greater Kansas City Network.

Holiday at the Farm

Angel Board of The Children’s Place
December 4th was the date for the Angel Board of The Children’s Place’s Holiday at the Farm. Guests enjoyed delicious wine, hors d’oeuvres, wonderful shopping, and entertainment by classical guitarist Charlie Matson at Noel’s in Mission Farms. Proceeds support the youngest survivors of abuse, neglect and other childhood traumas at The Children’s Place.

Create the Night…POP!

Eye-POPping Invitation
Ann and Kenneth Baum are the honorary chairmen, and Katie Gerson and Lisa Schellhorn are serving as the co-chairmen of The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s first annual gala, Create the Night…POP!, to be held on February 21st at the Museum. Members of the Museum’s Committee of 100 gathered on December 16th to prepare the fabulous invitations.
