100 Years in Kansas City
Celebrating a Century of Heroes: 100 Years in Kansas City will be held on October 23rd at The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center. Nancy Lee and Jonathan Kemper are the honorary chairmen, and Diane Canaday Hesse, Susie Heddens, Margi Pence, and Cappy Powell are serving as the co-chairmen of the event to benefit the American Red Cross of Greater Kansas City. Guests will enjoy feature stories about local heroes and a special presentation by Captain Chesley B.

Broadway’s Gone to the Dogs
Project Poochie, “Poochie Productions: Broadway’s Gone to the Dogs” was held on August 22nd at the InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza. More than 360 guests had a wonderful time at the furry runway fashion show that supports the SASSY Program at Great Plains SPCA and the Pet Memorial Garden.

Sugar Plum Fairy Children’s Ball
The 20th annual Sugar Plum Fairy Children’s Ball will be held on December 6th at Union Station Kansas City. Kris Marriott-Calovich is serving as the chairman. Partygoers will enjoy an elegant lunch, followed by a performance of the Kansas City Ballet’s The Nutcracker at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

Opening Gala
September 13th was the date for Halls on Grand’s Opening Gala. Partygoers enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, special entertainment, and tours of the exquisite shopper’s paradise.

One Hundred Years of Quality

One of Our Town’s most respected businesses, Arrow Fabricare Services, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. It was originally founded by Joseph Gershon, who immigrated to the United States from Poland. Due to Joseph’s exceptional skills with needle and thread, he opened Arrow’s doors in 1914, just a few blocks down from where the company is currently located.
