The Jewel Ball

2014 Chairman
The sixtieth Jewel Ball, a benefit for The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Kansas City Symphony, was held on June 21st at The Museum. Ellen Zimmer Darling (Mrs. Albert Darling, Jr.) was the chairman. She wore a beautiful custom-made Monique Lhuillier gown with a lattice embroidered silk linen gazar bodice in orchid and silk gazar skirt in poppy. 
In keeping with the milestone of the Diamond Anniversary Jubilee, bold changes were made to usher The Jewel Ball into a new era.

Match Appreciation Banquet

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City
More than 800 guests attended Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City’s Match Appreciation Banquet recently. The evening featured pre-show entertainment, dinner and an awards ceremony. Match lengths were honored and new friendships were celebrated. The Awards Ceremony honored Bigs of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and the Lifetime Friendship Award.

Crib Note 
June Marie Winzenried is the new girl in Town! The blue eyed, brown haired beauty was born on April 13th to Hillary Breece DeMuth Winzenried and Adam Michael Winzenried. She came into this world weighing six pounds, eight ounces. Her proud grandparents are A. Marie McMorris of Prairie Village, Claudette and Grant DeMuth of Guntersville, Alabama, and Anita Winzenried of Beloit, Kansas. June’s maternal great-grandparents are Bette and Claud Harrell of Guntersville, Alabama.

Hall of Fame Dinner and Awards Celebration

The InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza was the site for The University of Kansas Hospital’s fourth annual Hall of Fame Dinner and Awards Celebration. More than 360 guests enjoyed the June 10th event. The awards recognized individuals and organizations that share the hospital’s vision and whose leadership, advocacy and philanthropy have contributed to its success.

Dustin “Jensen” Adams

Dustin “Jensen” Adams is a member of the Centurions, Class of 2014. Jensen works for the Kansas City Public Schools in a newly created role as the districtwide Energy and Sustainability Manager. For the last decade, he has worked with federal, state and local government and regional energy utilities to administer innovative energy-efficiency programs.
