Don’t worry about blinking.  If you try not to blink, you end up staring at the camera instead of looking at it. The first thing the photographer looks at is the background. You are the second thing.

Purr Gamma Bark, a special sorority created for Wayside Waifs,  hosted an evening of fun at Carriage Club recently. Members enjoyed the Houndstooth & Purrls Pinning Ceremony and fabulous paw-tinies. One hundred percent of this year’s Purr Gamma Bark membership dues support Wayside Waifs unique and innovative Vet Preceptorship program.

H&R Block Artspace

Kansas City Art Institute
September 26th was the date for the 15th anniversary celebration of the H&R Block Artspace at the Kansas City Art Institute. Kansas City artist and musician Mark Southerland curated the celebratory event. Since the Artspace opened in the fall of 1999, the gallery has welcomed thousands of visitors, presented more than 100 exhibitions and public art projects and hosted numerous educational programs.

Dr. and Mrs. Russell Edward Tackett of Our Town are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Caroline Blair Tackett, to Fred T. Fox III, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred T. Fox, Jr. of Lawton, Oklahoma. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Arthur Dallmeyer and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence John Tackett. Blair is a graduate of The Pembroke Hill School.

Building Foundations for Brighter Tomorrows
Crittenton Children’s Center held its 11th annual A Toast for the Children, “Building Foundations for Brighter Tomorrows” on October 9th at Starlight Theatre. Ellen Hockaday was honored for her extraordinary service and dedication to Crittenton. Proceeds from the event support mental health services and programs for area youth.
