Cate Newell Stark and Stephen Paul Duerst were married on August 16th at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Breed Stark of Fairway. Cate is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dayton Newell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Allan Stark. Her groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Eugene Duerst of Wausau, Wisconsin. Color Splash
Donna and Ward Katz and Irene and Saul Ellis are serving as the co-chairmen of the Kansas City Art Institute’s second annual Patron Preview on December 4th at the H&R Block Artspace at KCAI. Guests will be able to tour studio departments and purchase artwork by students prior to the public opening of the end-of-semester exhibition and sale.

13th annual Treads & Threads

The University of Kansas Hospital
September 5th was the date for The University of Kansas Hospital’s 13th annual Treads & Threads at the Kansas Speedway. Proceeds support personalized cancer treatment, including genetic counseling and a new palliative care suite at The University of Kansas Cancer Center, the region’s only National Cancer Institute-designated center.

KC Dance Day

Kansas City Ballet
The Kansas City Ballet’s fourth annual KC Dance Day was held on August 23rd at the Todd Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity. The special event featured free dance and fitness classes for children and adults, as well as performances by local dance groups and world dance groups representing different dance cultures.
