Thanks to dedicated volunteer Travis Roth, the families at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City can look forward to little shopping sprees on Saturdays at The General Store. The General Store houses donated toys, clothing and other items that families staying at the house can “purchase” with play money collected during their stay.

50th Anniversary Gala

Harriman-Jewell Series
February 1st is the date for the Harriman-Jewell Series’ 50th Anniversary Gala at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. An elegant Gala Brunch will be served in Brandmeyer Great Hall, followed by a Gala Concert featuring a duo recital with Joyce DiDonato and Juan Diego Flórez. Julia Irene Kauffman is the honorary chairman, and Jackie Middelkamp is serving as the chairman.

Jim Allin

Jim Allin has worked for Applied Industrial Technologies for the past 16 years. He is a member of the Centurions Class of 2015. Jim serves as co-chairman for the 2015 Benchmarking Trip. He is a member of the service projects committee. Jim enjoys volunteering with the South Independence Evening Optimist Club, National MS Society – Mid America Chapter and the Rockhurst University Leadership Studies Advisory Board.

Women’s Foundation Golf Classic

Teeing Off 
August 25th was the date for the 15th Annual Women’s Foundation Golf Classic at Oakwood Country Club. Sandy Schermerhorn was the honorary chairman of the event that featured 18 holes of competition, networking and fun. Proceeds from the event support the Women’s Foundation of Greater Kansas City.

Centurions 
Ladies from the Centurions Class of 2015 gathered recently at Blue Moose Bar and Grill for a Baby Shower in honor of Kara Lowe and Suzanne Prendergast. Kara Lowe’s little bundle of joy, Emmett, arrived just in time to attend the party. Suzanne Prendergast is due this fall. Adorable onesies were presented to the honorees that said, “Centurions Class of 2044.
