Stella Olivia Dreyer

Crib Note
A beautiful baby girl named Stella Olivia Dreyer arrived on November 12th to proud parents Amy and Tom Dreyer of Our Town. Stella joins her big sisters Annie and Carly and big brother Tommy. She weighed eight pounds, two ounces and was 20 and one half inches long. Stella has blue eyes and brown hair. Her delighted grandparents are Thelma and Gene Dreyer of Prairie Village and Debi Appleton of Our Town and the late Gerald Appleton.

Wake Up and Smell the Coffee

Passover Blend
The Roasterie and Jewish Family Services have teamed up to create a special Passover blend of coffee. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the community food pantry that JFS operates. The new blend, which has been certified kosher for Passover, is a combination of beans from Brazil, Columbia and Costa Rica and is French roasted. Laney Nicholson

Laney, a Lab/Pointer mix, was an impulse rescue in July of 2005. Owner Amanda Nicholson explains that Laney loves to sunbathe, chew on sticks, fetch tennis balls, and go for car rides.

Shelly Koehler

Since graduating from Kansas State University in 1996, Shelly Koehler has spent the majority of her career in healthcare construction and is currently a senior project manager at J.E. Dunn Construction. Shelly is a member of the Centurions Class of 2014 is and co-chairman of the Projects Committee, where she coordinates volunteers with roughly 100 non-profit events in Our Town. Shelly and her husband, Casey, enjoy being outside and are avid water skiers.

In the Spotlight

May 12th is the date for Catholic Charities Foundation of Northeast Kansas’ 33rd Annual Ben and Betty Zarda Golf Classic to be held at Lake Quivira Country Club. Golfers will enjoy lunch, dinner and an awards ceremony. Proceeds will support the growing demands of the seven food pantries and the new food distribution warehouse dedicated to providing more balanced food options to those in need.
