Synergy Services – Kindest Kansas Citian Awards Banquet

The 27th Annual Kindest Kansas Citian Awards Banquet was held on May 5th at The View at Briarcliff. The event featured entertainment and delicious refreshments, in addition to spotlighting those who do so much for Our Town.  Jamie Cummings and John Isenberg were proclaimed Honorary Stars. As in other years, students at area schools wrote essays nominating candidates (5,000 of them!). The 20 Kindest Kansas Citians, along with the students who nominated them, were honored at the gathering.

Welcome House – Fourth Annual Breakfast

More than 800 supporters of the Welcome House attended the Fourth Annual Breakfast at the Overland Park Convention Center on May 11th. A coveted round of golf with longtime supporter Tom Watson led the auction offerings.

Rick Fleenor claimed a winning ticket.

Name Dropping – Create the Night…Through the Eyes of Picasso

Christy and Bill Gautreaux will be serving as the honorary chairmen for the Committee of 100’s black-tie gala, Create the Night…Through the Eyes of Picasso, on October 14th at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Guests will have an opportunity to see this internationally-renowned exhibition, which presents how non-western art influenced the work of Picasso. The Museum will be the only venue in the United States to feature this exhibit before it heads to Montreal.

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Thompson!

Chandler Bramanti Hampton and Justin Ross Thompson were married on May 13th at the InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth George Block of Our Town. Chandler is the granddaughter of Mary Florence Bramanti of Santa Fe, New Mexico, the late Dr. Henry Rudolfo Bramanti, Mrs. Allen Jacob Block of Prairie Village, and the late Mr. Block. Her groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Ewell Thompson of New Braunfels, Texas.
