Blissful Blue
The Family Conservancy’s second annual Blue Carpet was held on September 27th at Studio Dan Meiners. Kim and Dr. Ted Higgins were the honorary chairmen. Proceeds benefit The Family Conservancy.

Village Shalom

2013 Ages of Excellence Celebration 
Final plans are in the works for Village Shalom’s 2013 Ages of Excellence Celebration on November 21st at the Overland Park Convention Center. Pella Fingersh and James Klein are serving as the co-chairmen. The evening will feature Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Bob Woodward as guest speaker and the posthumous presentation of the Stephen J. Schoenfeld Volunteer Recognition Award to Herb Adler.

Kansas City Young Audiences toasted the patrons of the upcoming Benefit Concert for Arts Education featuring Audra McDonald at the beautiful home of Lynne and Mark O’Connell on October 17th. Guests celebrated the presentation of the Trudy Award to Allan Gray for his outstanding work in the arts.

A Century of Service
The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri, celebrated 100 years of service in Our Town at its Celebrating a Century of Service Luncheon on September 20th. The event was held in the Grand Ballroom at Bartle Hall and Lisa Schubert Hickok, Rachel Sexton and Betsy Ballard served as the co-chairmen. Hoda Kotb, correspondent for Dateline NBC, co-host of the Today Show and best-selling author; was the featured speaker.
