Angels of the Children’s Place Gala

Hope for the Future
April 4th is the date for the Angels of the Children’s Place Gala. Nancy and Steve Hooley are serving as honorary chairmen of the event which will be held at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Guests will enjoy cocktails, dinner, a live auction, and dancing.

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. David Launder, Jr.

Jean Louise Neenan and David Branson Launder, Jr., were married on August 17th at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Joseph Michael Neenan of Our Town and the late Mrs. Neenan. Her groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Branson Launder, Sr., of Prairie Village. Musical Theater Heritage

A Rich Heritage
The Gala Dinner Auction, a benefit for Musical Theater Heritage, was held recently at The River Club. Proceeds from the event support MTH productions at Crown Center, as well as support for its nationally syndicated radio program, A Night on the Town, which celebrates the 100-year history of the American musical. Ed Milbank was the honorary chairman, and Largo Leslie Callenbach served as the chairman.

March of Dimes

Honoring Nurses
October 25th  was the date for the March of Dimes’ Future of Nursing Awards Gala. Felisha McDougald was the honorary chairman, and Dr. Karen Cox, Children’s Mercy Hospitals & Clinics; served as the chairman of the event which was held at the InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza. Awards were presented to 17 nurses from a variety of practice settings. Bonnie and Mark Barnes, the DAISY Foundation; were the keynote speakers.

Saint Luke’s East Hospital

Red Carpet Elegance
On October 26th, guests stepped out onto the red carpet for an elegant eventing at Saint Luke’s East Hospital’s Boo Ball. The event raised funds for cancer infusion services and the Renewal of Hope Fund, an assistance fund for cancer patients. Debra and Chip Moxley and Lauren and Brian Johnson served as the co-chairmen.
