20 Years of Giving
On August 11th, more than 20,000 supporters, volunteers  and breast cancer survivors gathered for the Susan G. Komen Greater Kansas City Race for the Cure. Guests enjoyed the Kids for the Cure Park, the Survivors Pavilion and the Survivors Parade. The annual event celebrated 20 years of breast cancer prevention and awareness in Our Town.

Royal Welcome

Belles of the American Royal 
On September 6th, the 2013 BOTARs, escorts, royal escorts, and their families gathered at the American Royal Complex to celebrate the upcoming Ball with a fiesta buffet, music and dancing. Laura Beachy and Kristin Patterson were the co-chairmen. The 64th BOTAR Ball will be held on October 19th at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown.

Crafting Crescendo

Friends of the Conservatory of Music and Dance at UMKC
The Friends of the Conservatory of Music and Dance at UMKC’s Crescendo will be held on November 8th in Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.  Lisa Schellhorn recently hosted an Invitation Stuffing Party where more than 1,200 invitations were prepared for the event.

The NAIA Foundation Luncheon
On November 6th, The NAIA Champions of Character Foundation Luncheon will celebrate the values of those who make a difference in sports at the Kansas City Convention Center Grand Ballroom. The keynote speaker will be the University of Nebraska Coach Tom Osborne.

Artful Adventure
The ninth annual Young at Art Cocktail Party and Auction, a benefit for MOCSA’s art and play therapy programs, was held at the Uptown Theater. Lisa and Mike Hagedorn were the honorary chairmen, and Ali Mahaffy and Melanie Fenske served as the co-chairmen.
