Presenting Prelude

Harriman-Jewell Series
September 30th was the date for Prelude, an annual benefit to celebrate the 49th season of the Harriman-Jewell Series, at Indian Hills Country Club. Maureen and Richard Durwood were the honorary chairmen, and Pati Chasnoff, Merry Prostic and Susan Spaulding served as the co-chairmen. Guests enjoyed a performance by special guest artist, baritone Daniel Belcher, and Esther Loeb received the Richard Harriman Award for Excellence in the Arts.

Spotlight on Centurions

John Burgess
John Burgess joined Walsworth Publishing Company in 2009 and serves as director of strategy and innovation. John is a member of the Centurions Class of 2014 and serves as co-chairman of the Curriculum Committee. John also contributes his time and talent to the Gillis Center for Children and Families, Cornerstones of Care and Junior Achievement. John and his wife, Amber, have a daughter, Isabel.

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Paolantonio of Wayne, Pennsylvania, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Alexis Michelle Paolantonio, to Nicholas Guy Pickard, the son of Nancy Pickard of Prairie Village and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Pickard of Fairway. Alex is the granddaughter of Mr. Joseph Paolantonio of Wayne, Pennsylvania, and the late Mrs. Paolantonio and the late Vice Admiral and Mrs. Eli T. Reich. She is a graduate of Villa Maria Academy in Malvern, Pennsylvania.

Human Relations Dinner

Special Award
November 24th is the date for the Jewish Community Relations Bureau l American Jewish Committee’s Human Relations Dinner to be held at the Sheraton Kansas City at Crown Center. Anita B. Gorman, Phil Kirk, David H. Westbrook, and Kristi Wyatt are serving as the co-chairmen. The Honorable John Lewis, Congressman from Georgia and civil rights icon, will be the featured speaker. James B. Nutter, Sr. will receive the 2013 Henry W. Bloch Human Relations Award.
