Jeremy Robert Starr
A darling baby boy named Jeremy Robert Starr was born on October 24th to Amy and Andrew Starr of Mission. Jeremy has hazel eyes and brown hair and weighed seven pounds, 14 ounces. His proud grandparents are Barbara and John Bauman of Columbia, Missouri, and Irene and Norton Starr of Amherst, Massachusetts. Jeremy shares his birthday with his late great-grandfather, Raymond H. Starr.

Project 39

Mother of All Happy Hours
May 9th was the date for Project 39’s Mother of All Happy Hours in Our Town. More than 40 hosts gathered baby items to help support single mothers in The Family Conservancy’s Healthy Parents, Healthy Kids Program. Participants in the program gain points by attending weekly parenting classes focusing on topics ranging from prenatal care to healthy cooking.

The WIN for KC Triathlon will take place on July 27th at Smithville Lake. Mallory Cage, WIN for KC; explains the important role that volunteers play at the WIN for KC Triathlon. “Each year at the WIN for KC Triathlon we utilize the skills of over 200 volunteers. From our green team to the lifeguards, all of the volunteers are important and the main reason the Triathlon is successful and enjoyable for everyone who attends.

Enchanted Evening
September 27th is the date for Marillac’s Enchanted Evening at the Ritz Charles. “My World, My Dreams, My Tomorrows” is the theme of the event. Becky and Brett Gordon are the chairmen. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour, silent and live auctions, dinner, and entertainment.

Art Bra KC

The Art of Survival
“Celebrating the Art of Survival” was the theme of Art Bra KC at Signature Flight Support. Kathy Donovan was the honorary chairman, and Cindy Wittman and Adrienne Helvey served as the co-chairmen. The third annual event raised funds to benefit patients in need at Missys’ Boutique, an accredited appearance center at The University of Kansas Cancer Center’s Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Care Pavilion.
