April 19th was the date for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Luncheon at the Overland Park Convention Center. More than 1,000 guests attended the sold-out event which has saved the lives of 627,000 women during the past ten years.

Helping the Hungry
April 25th was the date for Harvesters’ Forks & Corks in the Grand Ballroom of the Kansas City Convention Center. During its 17-year history, Forks & Corks has helped Harvesters provide more than 11 million meals to hungry people. Mandy and David Waters served as the chairmen.

Jason Souter 
Jason Souter recently took a sabbatical from his job as a project manager at Cerner Corporation, which included spending seven days at Ronald McDonald House Charities – Kansas City, stocking linen closets and organizing storage areas and toys. He and his daughter, Jayden, had spent more than 100 nights there after she was diagnosed with a rare form of Wilms cancer.

Giving Thanks
April 19th was the date for an appreciation reception for the patrons’ of the Catholic Charities Foundation of Northeast Kansas’ Snow Ball. Snow Ball Presidents Jeanne and Charlie Haake thanked patrons for their tireless help and dedication. The 40th annual Snow Ball will be held on January 18th.

On May 15th, Milburn Country Club’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was celebrated by members and representatives from A. L. Huber, Zimmer and Helix Architecture & Design. In 2013, MCC celebrates its 96th year in Overland Park.
