Party With a Purpose
The 12th Annual Treads & Threads will roar into the Kansas Speedway on September 6th to benefit The University of Kansas Hospital. This party with a purpose will feature country music duo Big & Rich and delicious fare from more than 20 top local restaurants, caterers and dessert specialists. The Sunderland Family are the honorary chairmen, and Peggy and Terry Dunn are serving as the chairmen.

Elegant Entertaining
Enjoy a rare garden and home tour, hosted by the Westport Garden Club, on May 18th. Entertaining Gardens is a benefit Powell Gardens’ “Good to Grow” program. The event will feature six stunning gardens, with three of them including tours of the homes; a gift shop and a garden raffle. Dr. Anthony Fangman, chairman

Dr. Anthony Fangman, Saint Luke’s Health System; is serving as the chairman of the 32nd annual Spelman Golf Classic on June 7th at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex. The event is a benefit for Saint Luke’s North Hospital and will feature breakfast, lunch and a two-man or four-man scramble. Proceeds will help fund 3D breast tomosynthesis technology at the Center for Women’s Care.

Cheers to Volunteers

The Kansas City Red Coaters
The Kansas City Red Coaters are a community-service organization comprised of 70 volunteers who are passionate about the Kansas City Chiefs and giving back to Our Town. The Red Coaters contributed more than 3500 hours of community service in 2012 and joined with Clark Hunt, Chiefs Cheerleaders and KC Wolf to collect over $40,000 to benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kansas City.
