Congratulations Katherine & Daniel!

Katherine Baker and Daniel Nelson were married on October 10th at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell W. Baker, Jr., of Our Town. Her groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Morton Nelson of St. Joseph, Missouri.
The evening prior, the groom’s parents hosted an elegant rehearsal dinner at The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a beautiful reception at The Kansas City Country Club.

Truman Library Institute – Wild About Harry

Wild About Harry will be held on April 7th at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. The theme, “Truman’s Whistle Stop Campaign,” will transport guests back to 1948 and Harry Truman’s historic race for the White House. John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, managing editors of Bloomberg Politics; will be the special guest speakers, and Dr. Henry Kissinger will receive the Harry S. Truman Legacy of Leadership Award.

Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art – Create the Night…Masterpiece

On December 16th, committee members gathered to address invitations for The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art’s gala, Create the Night…Masterpiece, which will be held on February 20th at the Museum. The black-tie affair will highlight the opening of the Museum’s exhibit, Reflecting Class in the Age of Rembrandt and Vermeer. Joan and Alan Marsh and The Karbank Family are the honorary co-chairmen, and Carol Logan, Peggy Lyons and Mary Reintjes are serving as co-chairmen.

The Junior League of KCMO – 2016 Take Five

The 2016 Take Five event, a benefit for The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri, will be held on March 4th at Pennway Place at Studio Dan Meiners. The fifth annual event will feature specialty libations, delicious fare from local restaurants, live entertainment by Lost Wax, raffle packages, and a $5,000 giveaway. 

Co-chairmen Katie Adams and Brittney Henderson flanked Tiffany Goddard, sustainer.
