Yvette and Doug Kinney are serving as chairmen of The Arts & Recreation Foundation of Overland Park’s Stems: A Garden Soirée on June 25th at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. This annual summer celebration will feature fine wines, great fare, live music, and a spectacular fireworks show.
Austin Bickford and his brother, Julian Bickford, founded BicMedia, a video, animation and music production company, located in the Crossroads Arts District. Austin is a member of the Centurions, class of 2017 and serves on the Wild Card Task Force and the social committee. Austin volunteers at Children’s Mercy Hospital, Great Plains SPCA and Phoenix Family.

Lisa and Dr. Donald Cole, Dr. Shelby and Dustin Durand, Michelle and Brian Smith, and Twyla and John Wilson are co-chairmen of the April 1st event. Guests will enjoy delectable fare, a live auction, beautiful views of Downtown Kansas City, and entertainment by Quixotic and Tim Whitmer and the KC Express.
April 23rd is the date for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 28th annual Black Tie Ball, “An Evening of Elegance.” Suzanne and Brad Smith are the chairmen. Guests will enjoy a signature cocktail, silent and live auctions, a five-course dinner, and entertainment.
Wild About Harry will be held on April 7th at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. The theme, “Truman’s Whistle Stop Campaign,” will transport guests back to 1948 and Harry Truman’s historic race for the White House. John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, managing editors of Bloomberg Politics; will be the special guest speakers, and Dr. Henry Kissinger will receive the Harry S. Truman Legacy of Leadership Award.
