The 2014 Community Luncheon will mark MOCSA’s 39th year of service in Our Town. The event will be held on May 2nd at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Erin Merryn is the keynote speaker, and Zulema and Terry Bassham and Christy and Bill Gautreaux are serving as the honorary co-chairmen.
Rock Chalk Ball
April 26th is the date for The University of Kansas’ Rock Chalk Ball, “Jayhawks and Juleps,” at the Overland Park Convention Center. Laura and Todd Sutherland are the chairmen, and Steve Doocy, Fox & Friends, will serve as the emcee. Hats, bow ties and mint juleps will set a festive mood for this year’s Derby-themed evening.
June 28th is the date for the Arts & Recreation Foundation of Overland Park’s Stems: A Garden Soiree at the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Kim and Brad Scafe are the honorary chairmen of the seventh annual event. Guests will enjoy wine, delicious fare, strolling through the gardens, entertainment, en plain air art, and fireworks.
The Kansas City Zoo’s most adventuresome event, Jazzoo, will be held on June 6th. Sandy Johnson is serving as the chairman of the event which will celebrate its 25th anniversary. Guests will enjoy cocktails, delicious bites from some of Our Town’s best restaurants and fabulous entertainment.

April 10th is the date for The Truman Library Institute’s 15th Annual Wild About Harry to be held at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown.
