The fifty-ninth Jewel Ball, a benefit for The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Kansas City Symphony, was held on June 15th at The Museum. Margaret Hall Pence (Mrs. William Keith Pence) served as the chairman. She wore an exclusive couture gown designed by Carlos Ramirez of Liancarlo.
MOCSA’s 10th annual Johnson County Fall Forum will be held on October 8th at the Overland Park Marriott. Kay and Tom Martin are the honorary chairmen, and Michele Snyder and Vince Sabia are serving as the co-chairmen. Dr. David Lisak is the featured speaker.

Janice Fischer has been a member of the Kansas City Young Matrons since 2003 and was recently named its president. Message in a Bottle
The National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial will be the site of First Call Alcohol/Drug Prevention & Recovery’s third annual Message in a Bottle event on September 17th. The keynote speakers are David Sheff and Nic Sheff, bestselling authors of A Beautiful Boy and We All Fall Down. Lena Price and Tom Cohen are the chairmen.
The Belles of the American Royal are pleased to announce to selection of Kim Manka Mann as their 2013 president. The 64th BOTAR Ball will be held on October 19th at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Kim is a BOTAR, class of 1990. She served as recording secretary in 1999, vice president of American Royal activities in 2002 and vice president of BOTAR activities in 2005.
