The 46th annual Ballet Ball will be held on December 6th to benefit the Kansas City Ballet and the Kansas City Ballet School. Guests will enjoy cocktails, dinner and dancing. Past Ball Chairmen met recently to support this year’s fundraising effort.

The 10th annual Hats Off to Mothers, a benefit for United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Kansas City, will be held on May 10th at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. The luncheon will honor these outstanding mothers: Kay Barnes, Lynne Brown, Erin Crapser, Peggy Dunn, Dr. Carol Fabian, Mary Lou Jaramillo, Dr. Brenda Smith, Barbara Spilker, Dr. Michella Stiles, and Ursula Terrasi.
Tapas and Tutus
The Kansas School of Classical Ballet’s Tapas and Tutus event will be held on March 2nd. Ann Sundeen is serving as the chairman. Guests will enjoy beer and wine, hors d’oeuvres, a selection of sweets, live music, and entertainment by students. The school was founded by Stefani Schrimpf and Juan Pablo Trujillo, former principal dancers with the Kansas City Ballet.
Variety of Greater Kansas City – Children’s Charity’s Variety Show 2013 will be held on March 2nd at the Midland Theatre. Guests will enjoy wonderful entertainment from some of Our Town’s finest including Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders, Kansas City Royals Alumni, Mayor Sly James, Peter deSilva, Danny O’Neill, and Lauren LaPointe as they share the stage with local professional entertainers. The 14th annual Wild About Harry benefit is set for April 11th at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Nancy Gibbs and Michael Duffy, TIME Magazine editors and best-selling co-authors of The Presidents Club: Inside the World’s Most Exclusive Fraternity, are the special guests. General Richard B. Myers, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will receive the 2013 Harry S. Truman Legacy of Leadership Award.
