KU Alumni Association – The Rock Chalk Ball

The 22nd edition of The Rock Chalk Ball was held on April 29th. The event, hosted by the KU Alumni Association’s Greater Kansas City Network, took place at the Overland Park Convention Center. Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little and Shade Keys Little served as honorary chairmen, and Jason Booker and Sasha Boulware were the co-chairmen.

Lyric Opera Circle – Her Majesty’s Ball

 
The Lyric Opera Circle’s Her Majesty’s Ball was held on April 8th in the Grand Ballroom of the Kansas City Convention Center. Guests were treated to a silent auction, dinner, dancing, and inspiring performances by Lyric Opera of Kansas City artists. Carol and John Kornitzer were the honorary chairmen, and Sherry Love served as the chairman. Beth Ingram, who has served on the board of trustees for 50 years, was honored.

Indian Hills Country Club – Spring Thaw

Spring Thaw was held on April 21st at Indian Hills Country Club. The evening featured dancing and celebrated the end of winter and the beginning of the warm weather.

Harvesters – Forks & Corks 2017

April 27th was the date for a celebration of the 21st year of Forks & Corks, a benefit for Harvesters – The Community Food Network. Guests enjoyed gourmet fare and liquid refreshments from nearly 60 of Our Town’s finest restaurants and purveyors in the Grand Ballroom at the Kansas City Convention Center. Mary McClure served as the chairman.

Guests were wowed by the sweet treats from Andrés Confiserie Suisse.

The Family Conservancy – Brew for Books 2017

April 13th was the date for The Family Conservancy’s Brew for Books at Boulevard Brewing Company. The fourth annual event featured Boulevard beer, delicious Waldo Pizza and the vocal stylings of Ryan Triggs. The event collected more than 20,000 books for children in Our Town who are living in poverty.
