Indian Hills Country Club – Pow Wow Tournament

Indian Hills Country Club’s Pow Wow Tournament was held June 14th through the 17th. This year was the 57th anniversary of the Club’s great golf tradition. The tournament featured three days of competitive golf, followed by a gourmet dinner and dancing at the club.

Park University – Night at the Helm

June 6th was the date for Park University’s Night at the Helm at the National World War I Museum and Memorial. Edith and Benny Lee and Lieutenant General (retired) Richard Keller served as honorary co-chairmen. Guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and dessert and many special performances. Proceeds support the International Center for Music and the Global Warrior Center.

Powell Gardens – Under A Blue Moon: Garden Party and Rare Plant Auction

Ashley Broockerd and Anne Riker Powell were the co-chairmen for Under A Blue Moon: Garden Party and Rare Plant Auction, which was held at Powell Gardens on June 11th. The honorary chairman was Alan Branhagen, the former director of horticulture. A Fund-A-Need in Alan’s honor supported the expansion, and care and maintenance of the plant collections. Guests dined al fresco and enjoyed sumptuous views and a wonderful auction. Dick Wilson served as the master of ceremonies.

Turner House Children’s Clinic – Hooked on Kids’ Health

Andrea Thomas Ramsey and Stacey Homuth served as co-chairmen of Turner House Children’s Clinic’s Hooked on Kids’ Health event on June 4th at Sturgis Materials. More than 150 guests enjoyed cocktails, a four-course seafood feast from Jarocho’s and a silent auction. More than $18,000 was raised to support Turner House Children’s Clinic.
