Making a Difference
Lululemon on the Plaza is where the Youth Advisory Board for WIN for KC recently met to discuss their roles for the Women’s Sports Awards Luncheon on February 1st. The Youth Advisory Board is a group of high school girls from Our Town that serve as advisors and ambassadors for WIN for KC. After the meeting, the girls stayed for the lululemon Sunday yoga class.

Challenge Your Fashion

Fashion’s Favorite Night
The sixth annual Challenge Your Fashion event to benefit the YMCA of Greater Kansas City’s Challenger Program was held on January 19th at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Guests enjoyed dinner, silent and live auctions, great music, and a fabulous fashion show featuring current and former Royals players on the catwalk. Ashley and Luke Hochevar and Danny Duffy were the co-hosts, and Lisa and Scott Hallier were the chairmen.

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary

Tea and Company
December 5th was the date for The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary’s annual Membership Tea. The event was held at the lovely home of Jane Bolte and members enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, fancy desserts and a message from Major Sharon Smith. Carl Bolte entertained the guests with a special Christmas selection he composed for the piano.

World AIDS Day 2012

Making a Difference
The AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City presented three events in recognition of World AIDS Day 2012. More than 100 supporters attended the Patrons’ Party hosted by Kathy Kelly and Bryan Folk. The Community Luncheon took place on November 29th at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center. Dr. Ronald Valdeserri was the keynote speaker. The World AIDS Day Reception and the Millennial League’s Code Red Party were held at the Berg Event Space.

Saint Luke’s Neuroscience Institute

Grand Opening
Saint Luke’s Hospital and community leaders gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony on January 9th to celebrate the opening of the new Saint Luke’s Neuroscience Institute. The evening featured a reception, tours and interactive demonstrations by Saint Luke’s physicians. The Institute is led by Dr. Marilyn Rymer and Dr. Darren Lovick.
