Steer Dinner and Auction

Fueling Education
Avila University’s 37th Annual Steer Dinner and Auction was held on February 16th.  Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner, auction and program at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. The After Party featured dancing to the Saucy Jack Band and a Steer Photo Booth. Proceeds supported student scholarships.

The Children’s SPOT

Once Upon a Time
February 24th was the date for the 16th annual Once Upon a Time at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Connie and Anthony Mendolia were the honorary chairmen, and Amie and Dr. Kevin Bybee and Elizabeth and Dr. Michael LeBlanc were the co-chairmen. Guests enjoyed dazzling table decor, music by Radio Disney, dancing, dinner, games, and family entertainment. Proceeds helped support The Children’s SPOT at Saint Luke’s Hospital’s Family Assistance Fund.

Avila University

Gift of Education
Dr. Ron Slepitza, Avila University; appeared on The View on February 6th and surprised the Sterling family of Blue Springs, Missouri, with $500,000 in scholarships for their seven children. Lauren and Scott Sterling recently adopted five Peruvian orphans, and the money will ensure that the children receive an American education and bright futures.

Art for the Children Auction and Gala

Helping Hands
February 9th was the date for the Medical Missions Foundation’s 17th Annual Art for the Children Auction and Gala at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Guests enjoyed an auction, dinner and entertainment by the Karen Davis Project. Susan and Dr. Doug Girod were the chairmen. Proceeds provide medical and surgical care to thousands of indigent children in developing countries through Medical Missions Foundation.
