World AIDS Day 2012

Making a Difference
The AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City presented three events in recognition of World AIDS Day 2012. More than 100 supporters attended the Patrons’ Party hosted by Kathy Kelly and Bryan Folk. The Community Luncheon took place on November 29th at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center. Dr. Ronald Valdeserri was the keynote speaker. The World AIDS Day Reception and the Millennial League’s Code Red Party were held at the Berg Event Space.

Saint Luke’s Neuroscience Institute

Grand Opening
Saint Luke’s Hospital and community leaders gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony on January 9th to celebrate the opening of the new Saint Luke’s Neuroscience Institute. The evening featured a reception, tours and interactive demonstrations by Saint Luke’s physicians. The Institute is led by Dr. Marilyn Rymer and Dr. Darren Lovick.

Premiere Screening

Michele Stowers and Mary Wetzel, Kansas City Public Television Producers’ Society Members; recently hosted an exclusive Downton Abbey Premiere Screening at the lovely home of Rachael Sabates. Guests enjoyed tea and scones and watched as the plot thickened in season three of the hit show on KCPT.

Marillac Benefit

Enchanted Evening
The 20th annual Enchanted Evening Benefit Gala was held at the Overland Park Convention Center on November 16th. Dr. Sharon Cain and Dr. William Gabrielli served as the co-chairmen for the event, which was hosted by Marillac. The night began with a silent auction and cocktail reception. Later, guests enjoyed a gourmet dinner, live auction and a program emceed by Johnny Rowlands.

Broadway Bebe Boutique

Fashion Forward
The New Normal star and Kansas City native Bebe Wood hosted her second annual Broadway Bebe Boutique on January 4th. The night of fun and fashion featured boutique shopping, tasty treats, silent and live auctions, and a fabulous show. The evening benefited Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, a New York-based non profit relying on the talents of the American theatre community to raise funds to support individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS.
