Celebratory Luncheon
The Committee of 100, a group formed in support of The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, held A Celebratory Luncheon on October 2nd at the museum.  More than 400 guests enjoyed a presentation from Alexa Hampton, noted interior designer; and a beautiful lunch in Kirkwood Hall. Karen Craft and Joan Marsh were the Luncheon chairmen, and Caroline McCallister and Stephanie Seigfreid will be the chairmen of the 2013 event.

BOTAR’s Tablescapes’

Divine Design
BOTAR’s Tablescapes’ events were held at the American Royal on September 18th and 19th . Kim Aliber and Becky Herring were the co-chairmen. The Preview Party and Luncheon featured more than 40 designers and retailers who created unique tablescapes and a sensational shopping experience. Proceeds benefited the American Royal.

Annual Speakeasy Party

The Roaring 20s
The Kansas City Club’s Annual Speakeasy Party was held on August 18th. To celebrate all things 1920, the dress, music, automobiles, games, entertainment, and food and drink transported guests to a bygone era. This year marks the Club’s 130th anniversary, and members and their guests will celebrate on November 17th with cocktails, dinner and dancing.

The Folds of Honor Kansas City Chapter

Freedom Isn’t Free
The first annual Freedom Isn’t Free Gala took place on September 22nd at LiveStrong Sporting Park hosted by The Folds of Honor Kansas City Chapter. Major Dan Rooney founded The Folds of Honor Foundation to help ensure that no family is left behind in pursuit of freedom. Kansas City formed the first local affiliate chapter in 2011 to provide educational scholarships to local families of wounded and fallen soldiers.

Johnson County MOCSA

Fall Forum
The Overland Park Marriott was the site for MOCSA’s Fall Forum. Michele Manne Snyder and Vince Sabia were the co-chairmen. Guests watched a powerful segment from MOCSA’s educational video series, “Lockers: A Teen Relationship Series.” A panel of experts discussed sexual violence in Johnson County.
