Honorary Coaches Reception 
The 2011 Phillips Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship was held at Municipal Auditorium on March 8th, 9th, 11th, and 12th. WIN for KC held its annual Honorary Coaches Reception on March 7th. These community leaders serve as honorary coaches for their favorite BIg 12 basketball programs when the tournament is held in Our Town. They support their teams by attending the games, meeting the coaching staff and providing financial assistance to WIN for KC.

Symphony Designers’ Showhouse

Showhouse Celebration
The 42nd Symphony Designers’ Showhouse will mark its opening on April 28th with the Showhouse Celebration.  The event will be an opportunity to meet the designers and landscapers who have renovated the house at 1000 Westover Road.  The evening will feature a performance by the Kansas City Youth Jazz and drawings for fabulous prizes, as well as wine and hors d’oeuvres. The Kansas City Symphony Alliance coordinates the Showhouse, and proceeds benefit the Symphony.

Community of the Good Shepherd

Dinner Dance & Silent Auction
Community of the Good Shepherd recently held its 15th Annual Dinner Dance and Silent Auction at the Ritz Charles.  “Play Among the Stars” was the theme of the event.  Tony Antonucci entertained the guests during the cocktail hour, and DJ John Barnhart kept everyone dancing.  Marsha Daley and Cathy Anielak served as the co-chairmen.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre

A Fearless Fête
Kansas City Repertory Theatre‘s annual fundraising gala, A Fearless Fête, will be held on April 8th at Spencer Theatre.  The evening will feature singing and dancing from cast members of the hit production Cabaret.  Guests will also enjoy gourmet food, specialty cocktails and surprises from the Kit Kat Girls.  Proceeds from the event support the Kansas City Repertory Theatre‘s vital development of new works and its education programs.

A Garden Soirée

Stems 
Stems: A Garden Soirée will be held on June 25th at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens.  The evening will feature food from 20 area restaurants and caterers, libations, jazz and rock music, caricature artists, and a huge display of Plein Air art.  The event benefits the Arts & Recreation Foundation of Overland Park and its mission to maintain the quality of life in our community.
