Jewel Ball Party
Call the cops! Gangsters and molls raided and kidnapped the nine Jewel Ball hosts at their Gatsby-themed Jewel Ball party. The G-men thankfully arrived to rescue them and put an end to their capture! This creative surprise was part of a fun-filled evening, complete with gambling, music and delectables. Kim Fryer, Ashley Herring, Carolina Mach, Alex Maday, Morgan Peterson, Lindley Savage, Lilly Schaffer, Emma Sterbenz, and Morgan Twibell served as the hosts.

Kansas City Young Matrons

Home Sweet Home
The Kansas City Young Matrons’ Last Call Open House and Reception was held on June 12th. Members came to say “farewell” to their beloved clubhouse at 51st and Oak. The clubhouse, built in 1936, will be picked up and moved to its new location at 52nd and Cherry in August. Guests took a nostalgic stroll through the building and shared fond memories. The new clubhouse and expansion will open in the spring of 2016.

Kansas City Ballet

Annual Meeting
The offices of Lathrop and Gage were the lovely setting for the Kansas City Ballet’s Annual Meeting on June 15th. The event was hosted by Board Member Jack Rowe. New officers were elected, including Julia Irene Kauffman, chairman; Claire Brand, president; Jean-Paul Wong, immediate past president; Michael Frost, vice president; Jack Rowe, vice president; Kathy Stepp, treasurer; and Evelyn Craft Belger, secretary.

2015 Art and Design Auction

Kansas City Art Institute
Liz and Nate Orr were the chairmen, and Linda and Topper Johntz served as honorary chairmen of the Kansas City Art Institute’s 2015 Art and Design Auction, “Deviation,” on June 6th. Guests enjoyed silent and live auctions, creative fare prepared by Patrick Ryan, Port Fonda; theatrical entertainment, experiential installations and creative libations. The bi-annual event raised funds to support the college’s student scholarship program.

Let’s Upstage Cancer – A St. Jude Event

Champions For Children
June 6th was the date for the First Annual Let’s Upstage Cancer – A St. Jude Event. Kristin and Patrick Trysla and Aggie and Nate Accardo were co-chairmen of the event that was held at the College Basketball Experience. Proceeds support The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s mission to find cures for children with cancer and other deadly diseases through treatment and research.
