Name Dropping – The 68th BOTAR Ball

The 68th BOTAR Ball will take place on October 21st at the Muehlebach Tower of the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Tracy Lyon Tetrick is serving as president of BOTAR and is a BOTAR, class of 1990. She has been on the Executive Committee as treasurer in 1999, vice president of BOTAR activities in 2004 and vice president of American Royal activities in 2015. Her other leadership roles have included Benefactors co-chairman, Reservations chairman, Tablescapes co-chairman, and Program chairman.

Rising Star Reflection – Jake Jacobson

Jake Jacobson spent seven months studying dance with Joan Augustyn in preparation for BMA Foundation’s Dine & Dance With The Stars. Following 13 fundraisers in 13 weeks, the duo performed their three-minute ballroom routine to “Groove is in the Heart” and “HandClap” in front of an enthusiastic audience at the Overland Park Convention Center on June 10th.

Spotlight on Centurions – Jessica Nelson

Jessica Nelson is a member of Centurions, class of 2018. She is a Kansas City native, who graduated from The University of Kansas with a bachelor of science degree in journalism. Jessica careers as managing director at TeamKC: Life+Talent at the Kansas City Area Development Council. Right now, Jessica is counting down the days until her wedding to Eric Palm. (They’re getting married on September 3rd.

Spotlight on Centurions – Amanda Middaugh

Amanda Middaugh is manager of corporate and special events fundraising at the Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Her responsibilities include leading the fundraising and event planning efforts for KCRep’s annual gala, A Fearless FĂȘte. Amanda graduated from Drury University with degrees in art history and fine arts. She is a member of the Centurions, class of 2018. This past year, Amanda served on the Legacy Project committee for Turn the Page KC and the Poverty Task Force.
