WIN for KC

Terrific Triathlon
July 26th is the date for the WIN for KC Triathlon to be held at Smithville Lake. Registration will begin on January 31st. Participants will compete in a 500 meter swim, a 10 mile bike ride and a 5K run. Various training opportunities will be offered to WIN participants before the race. Cemal Umut Gungor

Spotlight on Centurions
Cemal Umut Gungor, a native of Trabzon, Turkey, works as a financial manager for the City of Kansas City, Missouri. Cemal is a member of the Centurions Class of 2015 and serves on the steering committee and Diversity Task Force. Cemal enjoys Quixotic Fusion performances and spending time at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art with his wife, Katherine.

Rick Kahle

Phoenix Family has truly benefited from Rick Kahle’s leadership. He is chairman of the board of directors for the organization. Rick’s involvement in Kansas City is far-reaching and varied. He serves on the board of directors of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and was the chairman of its 2013 Annual Dinner.  Rick also serves on the board of directors of the Kansas City Civic Council and the Mid America Coalition on Healthcare.

Nancy Smithyman

Nancy Smithyman has been the CASA volunteer for ‘Eva’ since she was 13 years old. Together, Nancy and Eva endured the many twists and turns of the foster care system, including foster homes, hospital stays and therapy and counseling sessions. Today, having graduated from high school, Eva has begun life as a college student. CASA of Johnson and Wyandotte Counties sincerely thanks Nancy for her consistent and thorough care of Eva these past five years.
