Holiday Mart, which will be held from October 20th through the 23rd at Bartle Hall, will benefit one of the Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri’s initiatives, HealthyLivingKC. This signature program is aimed at connecting Our Town’s residents living in the urban core with health resources that may be unavailable to them. More than 500 people attended a recent health fair.
The American Royal’s Chairman’s Classic, a new event for the 2016 American Royal season, is set for November 12th at Hale Arena. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with exhibitors, learn first-hand what it takes to take home a ribbon and watch the final night of the UPHA National Championship Horse Show.
Julie Walker-Browne and Pete Browne are proud supporters of Notre Dame de Sion School. The couple’s children, Maureen, Joe and Jack are students at the school. Julie and Pete have focused their time and financial resources for education, the arts and social service organizations for those in need. Julie serves as vice president of the Sion ALLiance parent organization. She is also a classroom representative, a Battle of the Books co-coordinator and a lunchroom volunteer.
Missy Love is serving as The Belles of the American Royal 2016 president. Since she was a BOTAR, class of 1984, she has worked tirelessly for the organization. “I served as corresponding secretary in 1991, vice president of public relations in 1994 and vice president of the BOTAR Ball in 2009,” said Missy. She also was the co-chairman of the decorations and benefactors committees, the American Royal wine auction and the Concert for Champions.
The Chiefs Ambassadors are a group of former Kansas City Chiefs players from throughout the club’s history. The only group of its kind in the NFL, members support Camp Quality of Greater Kansas City, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City, KidsTLC, The Love Fund, First Downs for Down Syndrome, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Kansas City, and the Derrick Thomas Third and Long Foundation.
