Back in the Swing

10th Anniversary
Back in the Swing will kick off its 10th anniversary year with a Summer Celebration featuring Grammy Award-winning artist Sheryl Crow on July 14th at the Carlsen Center at Johnson County Community College. This summer will also feature the release ofThe Back in the Swing Cookbook by Barbara C. Unell and Judith Fertig, which will be published on August 7th. Julie & Stephen Zanone

 

Julie and Stephen Zanone served as co-chairmen of the 2007 DeLaSalle AMC Movie Benefit. Stephen is a member of the board of directors and Julie works on the Movie Benefit committee every year and tutors DeLaSalle students in math, which she believes is the most fulfilling volunteer work she does.

Robin Sterneck

Volunteer Robin Sterneck has served on the WIN for KC advisory board since 2006 and has raised more than $100,000 on behalf of the organization. She has volunteered for the WIN for KC Women’s Triathlon and the Women’s Sports Awards Celebration.  Robin is the WIN for KC advisory board chairman. Thank you, Robin, for all of your hard work.

Heidi Whitehill

DeLaSalle selected Heidi Whitehill as DeLaSalle’s 2011 “Volunteer of the Year” for the work she does with the fundraising events and more importantly the one-on-one tutoring she does in social studies. Heidi and her husband, Ethan, will be hosting the Patrons’ and Sponsors’ Reception at their home for DeLaSalle’s 2012 Speaker Series featuring Stephen Pemberton.

Newhouse

Volunteer Appreciation
Newhouse celebrated the work of its volunteers on April 28th.  Flowers, certificates and a small gift item were given to those volunteers in attendance along with words that recognized those that give their time, talent and treasure.  Volunteer hand prints were captured to remind Newhouse of their “imprint” on its mission.
