Nicole Marie Burns and Bernard Joseph Craig were married on May 24th at Visitation Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Joseph Burns of Loch Lloyd, Missouri. Nicole is the granddaughter of Virginia “Ginny” Stack Burns of Our Town, the late Mr. Edmond Donald Burns, the late Elvira Quiroz Clarke, and Mr. Lupe Alvarez of Raytown, Missouri. Her groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Duffy Craig, Jr. of Our Town. Bernard is the grandson of the late Mr.
Bishop Spencer Place resident John Herbst and Chaplain Kathy Hall recently collected grocery bags to donate to the Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church food pantry. The pantry distributes more than 425 adult food bags and 90 children’s food bags each week.
John Herbst presented pantry coordinator Richard Scarritt the bags for use by the pantry and Meals on Wheels program.
A handsome baby boy named George Duncan Palmer arrived on June 4th to proud parents Allison Laner Palmer and Jared Palmer of Prairie Village. George weighed seven pounds, four ounces and has blue-grey eyes and brown hair. His delighted grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Joel Blass Laner of Our Town and Page Palmer and Bruce Palmer of Kansas City. George loves his darling grey and navy nursery that has an elephant theme.
Jill Deramus Wagner and Ian Nicholas Beckman were married on March 15th at The Pilgrim Chapel. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Don Wagner of Our Town. Jill is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Neal Deramus III and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wagner. Her groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Allen Beckman of Our Town. Ian is the grandson of Mrs. Donald Theodore Beckman of Our Town and the late Mr. Beckman and the late Mr. and Mrs.
First Birthday Celebration
Scarlet Catherine Redburn celebrated her first birthday on June 21st. The darling daughter of Katie and Bryan Redburn enjoyed a French-themed party with her siblings, Ronin, Ganon and Penelope at her home. Scarlet is a true Daddy’s girl who loves to snuggle and laugh.
Dr. and Mrs. Robin K. Purdy of Woodstock, Illinois, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Hilary Louise Purdy, to Michael Field Orlowski, the son of Debora H. Field Orlowski and Mr. David J. Orlowski of Our Town. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Woodstock High School in Woodstock. She earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Northwestern University.
Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Ralph Barnthouse of Leawood are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Molly Kathleen Barnthouse, to Robert James Anderson, the son of Reverend and Mrs. James Aden Anderson of Deephaven, Minnesota. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Thomas Auten of Paola, Kansas, and the late Mr. Auten and Mrs. James Barnthouse of Winfield, Kansas, and the late Mr. Barnthouse. Molly is a graduate of Notre Dame de Sion High School.
Let the Good Times Roll
Will Cray, Parker Johnson, Gregory Massman, Jonny Mayer, Chandler McCray, Connor McGannon, Bryan Morrison, and Robbie Thompson were the hosts of a Chris Cakes and Croquet Party. The gentlemen and escorts of The Jewel Ball had a wonderful time at the June 14th event that was held at the beautiful home of Jackie and Henry Massman.
June Marie Winzenried is the new girl in Town! The blue eyed, brown haired beauty was born on April 13th to Hillary Breece DeMuth Winzenried and Adam Michael Winzenried. She came into this world weighing six pounds, eight ounces. Her proud grandparents are A. Marie McMorris of Prairie Village, Claudette and Grant DeMuth of Guntersville, Alabama, and Anita Winzenried of Beloit, Kansas. June’s maternal great-grandparents are Bette and Claud Harrell of Guntersville, Alabama.
