Emily Rhoades Perry and Lucas Charles Short were married on August 23rd at Village Presbyterian Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melville Wilson Perry III of Prairie Village. Her groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Charles Short of Hamilton, Kansas. The evening prior, a rehearsal dinner was held at Boulevard Brewery. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a beautiful reception at Mission Hills Country Club. Megan Dixon served as the matron of honor.
Boots & Breast Cancer
Nigro’s Western Store hosted Giddy Up for Boots and Breast Cancer on October 23rd. Guests enjoyed appetizers, refreshments and door prizes. The $10 door donations benefit cleaningforareason.org, the Jennifer Ireland Foundation and the University of Kansas Cancer Center.

Following terrific performances in the Girls’ Tennis Class 2 District Tournament and an impressive showing at Sectionals over the weekend (Notre Dame de Sion took first place overall at both tournaments), Sion’s Tennis team is headed to the Missouri state tournament this weekend. Freshman Catherine Henne won Singles 1st place. Senior Michaela Henne and sophomore Margo Gerke won Doubles 1st place in Individual Districts.
A pink bundle of joy named Caro Elizabeth Fehsenfeld was born on June 25th. She weighed six pounds, 15 ounces and was 19 and one half inches long. Caro has blue eyes and lovely red hair. Her proud parents are Emily and Wesley Fehsenfeld of Fairway. Her delighted grandparents are Elizabeth and Paul Uhlmann III of Our Town and Debra Davis of Charleston, South Carolina, and Joseph Fehsenfeld of Delavan, Wisconsin. Caro’s namesakes are her great-great grandmother and her great aunt.
Katherine Therese Schilling and Christian Joseph Clark were married on July 19th at Visitation Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas John Schilling of Overland Park. Katherine is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard W. Miller of Our Town and Mr. and Mrs. George Schilling of South Bend, Indiana. Her groom is the son of Mrs. Joseph A. Clark III of Ridgewood, New Jersey, and the late Mr. Clark.

TIVOL’s fashion FORWARD Event
Jewelry designer and artist Brady Legler featured his jewelry collection at TIVOL’s fashion FORWARD event on September 20th, on the Country Club Plaza. A native of Our Town, Brady is a graduate of The Barstow School. He began designing jewelry at the age of 19 with the inspiration of his Italian grandmother, Lou. Lou was a fashion model who shared wonderful advice with Brady as he developed his own style.

The bride is the daughter of Martha Sidney Sutherland of Accomac, Virginia, and Mr. Mark Dwight Cheng of Bethesda, Maryland. Emilie is the step-daughter of Mr. Barnaby Conrad III and Mary Jane Skapek Cheng. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Dwight D. Sutherland, Sr., of Fairway and the late Mr. Sutherland and Dr. and Mrs. T. O. Cheng of Bethesda.
