Have Fun Getting Fit

If you’re suffering from a little post-holiday weight gain then look into the great classes offered through the Kansas City Ballet. There is still time to sign up for the Adult Ballroom Fitness, Irish Step and Teen/Adult Hip Hop classes. Each course lasts for eight weeks and is taught by a knowledgeable instructor. Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts

Hands-On at Kauffman Center

This is a gift that won’t soon be forgotten! This holiday season kids will have the chance to have their hand prints on the Children’s Wall at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Send in your child’s hand print, along with a generous donation, and their hand print will be placed on the wall early next year! Starlight Children’s Theatre

A New Kind of Theatre comes to the Kauffman Center

Starlight Children’s Theatre and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts are joining together to bring a new type of family fun to Our Town in 2012.  Elaborate sets and professional performances will delight the young and the young at heart!  The first production at the Kauffman Center will be Disney’s Aladdin, running from February 3rd to 5th, and Narnia The Musical will run from April 6th to 8th.  For more information, visit www.kauffmancenter.org.

Project Rise Holiday Fundraiser

This year’s Project Rise Holiday Fundraiser will be held on the evening of December 15th at the recently opened Bar Louie located in the Kansas City Power & Light District. The event is free, and guests will enjoy live music, appetizers and a presentation about Project Rise. Along with Kansas City Power & Light District’s $5,000 donation, Bar Louie will donate 15 percent of all food and beverage sales made during the event. Project Rise is a program that will attempt to engage at-risk young adults in productive activities educational opportunities, paid internships and case management.
