Grand Avenue Temple United Methodist Church is home to one of the world’s only unmodified OPUS 190 Skinner organs, and the church is celebrating its upcoming 100th anniversary with a free concert! On December 18th guests can view this magnificent organ that is 70 inches tall and boasts 3,500 pipes (though not every pipe is fully operational). Kansas City Power & Light District

Holiday Windows on Main and Tree Lighting

Head to the Power & Light District on Friday, November 18th to  kick off the holiday season with a tree lighting and then unveiling of  holiday-inspired windows! Participating local businesses will host  Holiday Open Houses form 5 to 8 pm.  The 40-foot Christmas Tree  located on 14th street between Walnut and Main will be lit at 5:30  pm. At 6 pm the Holiday Windows on Main street will be unveiled,  and the lights lining the street will be illuminated. The Nutcracker

The holidays are just around the corner and what better way to get into the spirit of Christmas than to go see the classic ballet The Nutcracker.  This year, for the first time, it will be performed at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.  The Kansas City Ballet’s production is choreographed by Todd Bolender and will feature music from the Kansas City Symphony. Holiday Mart

The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri is presenting Holiday Mart from October 20th through 23rd at Bartle Hall downtown!  This four day event will include great dining and a wide variety of shopping from more than 200 retailers.
