The Project Warmth Coat and Blanket Drive is coming to KayCee this weekend on Saturday, November 5th! Cold weather is on its way and many people in Our Town are in need of coats and blankets to keep warm this winter. The Northland Childhood Hunger Initiative Fund, along with  Harvesters and Mary Cross, is sponsoring the Bill Cross Fun Run, a  5K Walk/Run, on October 23rd. Proceeds will help provide the  Harvesters’ BackSnack Program at schools in the Northland.  Awards will be given to the top three runners in each age category,  as well as male and female overall winners over and under the age  of 40. The race is dedicated to the memory of Bill Cross, a teacher,  coach and administrator for 52 years in Our Town. If you’re a thrill-seeking athlete then Old Monroe, Missouri had just the event for you! The Warrior Dash, a “Fire Leaping, Mud Crawling 5K Race and Festival” will hit Missouri on Saturday, October 15th. Participants will take on 10 intense obstacles over 3 miles of extreme terrain. The runners will jump through fire, crawl through mud pits, climb over vehicles, and endure nine other grueling obstacles. When the blood-pumping race ends, the athletes can celebrate with an all day festival that includes live music, food and beer.
