Parkville’s 1st Annual Wine and Cheese Fest

Calling all wine and cheese lovers! The Parkville Christmas on the River Committee is hosting its 1st Annual Wine and Cheese Fest on September 11th in historic downtown Parkville. Attendees will receive a custom tasting glass and will be able to sample wines and cheeses from all over the world! For those of you who aren’t wine connoisseurs, a sommelier will be available to answer all of your questions. The Fest will also offer live music, grape stomping, demonstrations of cheese making, cigar cutting, silent auctions, and much more! All proceeds from the event will benefit this year’s Christmas on the River Celebration. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.

Girls Night Out

Whether you try to plan one every week or are long past due, we all know what you need… a girls night out! Make plans to attend the Girls Night Out event on August 27th in the Dillard’s District of Zona Rosa. You can look forward to multiple merchants in the area offering refreshments, raffle prizes and great specials on clothing, accessories and home furnishings. The retailer Apricot Lane will donate 10% of their night’s sales to the Heartland Women’s Leadership Council. Also, you and the girls can dance the night away to the sounds of cool jazz from Kansas City’s 5 Star Jazz Band!

Microbrew Festival

UNICO presents the second annual Microbrew Festival on August 14th at Zona Rosa. Participants will receive a commemorative sampling glass so they can walk around to each participating brewery booth and sample the best craft and import brews in the world! Free Movie Nights at Briarcliff Village

Parkville Days Riverfest 5K Run

Believe it or not, running can be fun! The Parkville Days 5K Run/Walk By The River is Saturday, August 21^st in conjunction with Parkville Days Riverfest from August 20^th- 22^nd. As you begin the race, crowds of people enjoying the Parkville parade will cheer you on — AND most of the race is downhill! Parkville 4th of July… One Hot Celebration!

One of the best July 4th parties in town is held in Parkville… in fact, it’s a July 1st-4th party! Beginning July 1st, a convivial carnival with loads of vendors will take place between 6-10 p.m.. The carnival fun continues through the 4th. On Saturday, July 3rd, there will be a pancake breakfast at the American Legion from 8-11 a.m. Come early to watch the parade… the procession begins at 10 a.m. The 4th kicks off with the carnival which starts at 4 p.m., the Beer Garden opens at 5 p.m. the Parkville Community Band plays at Park University at 7:30 p.m. and one of the most fabulous fireworks display in Our Town starts at 9:45. With shuttle service running until midnight on the 4th, there isn’t a more convenient way to enjoy an activity-packed day than in Parkville!
