Celebrate Halloween this weekend with two fun-filled days at the Kansas City Zoo!  Kids will enjoy trick-or-treating, chalk art, a spooky graveyard, an animal show and a costume parade!  Head to the Zoo on October 29th and 30th between 9:30 am and 6 pm to enjoy all the festivities.  For more information, visit www.kansascityzoo.org.

Twilight Fright Hike

What better way to get in the mood for Halloween than to walk through the woods at twilight? On Friday, October 21st from 6 to 8 pm, see bats flying over head, and owls hooting from all around. Take a guided tour through part of the Byron Shutz Nature Walk at Powell Gardens at dusk with only a flickering candle lighting the path. Registration for this eerie event ends October 17th. This Saturday, September 10th is Kids JAZZOO! Kids will have the  chance to meet animals up close, and learn about the environments  of polar bears and gibbons. Super Weekend at the Zoo

It’s going to be a super weekend at the Zoo with three days of super hero-inspired activities!  There will be a Sunset Safari on Friday night where kids will have the chance to meet Captain America.  On Saturday they can compare their strength to Thor, and on Sunday Spider-Man will swing by to sign autographs!  Get more info at www.kansascityzoo.org.

Powell Gardens 5k Run/Walk and Garden Grill Off

Powell Gardens is holding its first ever 5k Run/Walk on September 10th!  The course will curve around the lake with beautiful views of the grounds.  After the race participants can enjoy delicious snacks fresh from the garden.  Powell Gardens will also be hosting the Backyard Garden Grill Off that day.
