Big Bugs Are Back!

Get jumpy at the thought of ants in your pants?  Does a fear of bed bugs keep you awake at night?  Don’t let bugs creep you out… come see Dave Roger’s Big Bugs at Powell Gardens.  These fantastic oversized insect sculptures will be on display beginning May 29th through October 3rd.  There are 11 unnaturally large sculptures, including a new 10-foot tall Daddy Long Legs and a trio of 700 pound ants!  Plenty of play stations will be set up for kids, including a sandbox, a kid-sized ant hill, a caterpillar crawl, and photo stations.  Indoors you can explore the Crawleseum, which gives you a chance to see live creepy crawly bugs up close.  Plan to spend the day at Powell Gardens, and experience the wonderous events and beauty that make up this botanical bounty.  Click www.powellgardens.org for more information, or call 816.697.2600.

A new Daddy Long Legs sculpture is new to Big Bugs. Guests enjoy the Nature Trail at Powell Gardens.
