Good Samaritan Project

Dining Out For Life

Thirty-four restaurants around KC will be donating a portion of their profits to the Good Samaritan Project on Thursday, April 26th as part of the Dining Out For Life event. Head to the Westside to any of the following restaurants participating in the good cause: blue bird bistro, Chez Elle Creperie and Coffeehouse, The Westside local, Los Alamos Market y Cocina, FuD, and Lill’s on 17th Spanish Bistro. Kansas City Ballet

Masters of American Dance

The Kansas City Ballet will present Masters of American Dance from May 4th though May 13th at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. The performance will feature four ballets by choreographers who have a special significance to Kansas City Ballet. They will include,  Serenade by George Balanchine, Afternoon of a Faun by Jerome Robbins, Les Gentilhommes by Peter Robins, and Souvenirs by Todd Bolender. First Fridays

Celebrate this month’s First Fridays weekend at 17th & Summit! Stop by Chez Elle Creperie and Coffeehouse on Friday night to view oil paintings by Luis Prendes and hear live music from jazz duo A La Mode. Or enjoy delicious Spanish dishes at Lill’s while enjoying new paintings from artist Matthew Iverson. The Mattie Rhodes Art Gallery will be displaying work from two current exhibits; Corazones Valientes, which features the work of a group of female painters and muralists from Costa Rica, and work from artist Juan Chawuk. Kansas City Ballet

Romeo & Juliet

Shakespeare’s famous love story will be brought to the stage by the Kansas City Ballet this weekend at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Romeo & Juliet, choreographed by Ib Andersen and composed by Sergei Prokofiev, will open Friday, February 17th and will run until Sunday, February 26th. First Friday

First Fridays at the Westside

February is here and that means it is once again time for First Fridays! This Friday head to the Westside for a great new experience. The Mattie Rhodes Art Gallery will be hosting an Opening Reception from 6 to 9pm featuring two exhibits, Energetic Ceremony, Messengers of Light, and The Power of Intention and Corazones Valientes ( Brave Hearts). Stop by Chez Elle before-hand to enjoy a scrumptious crepe or a sweet glass of wine and view an inspiring exhibit from photographer Ken O’Renick.
